Where are we currently with the pandemic?
Everyone we know is tired of the pandemic. However, unless we stop the pandemic everywhere with vaccines, this pandemic will go on and on.
The World Trade Organization (WTO) favors protecting patents and the profits of pharmaceutical companies over the lives of people everywhere. Already, there have been over 6 million directly due to COVID infection. Cases in Texas over the past 14 days have gone up 41% according the New York Times. This pandemic is not over. |

What can we do to stop COVID at home and abroad?
If you cannot attend one of the three demonstrations in Dallas, Houston or Austin later this week, you can still help this effort by calling German consulates in those cities (see below). Germany has been particularly active in protecting the patents and profits of its pharmaceutical industry.
Come to an event THIS WEEK or CALL and ask the consulate to "Please support a temporary, one-time waiver of WTO patent laws so many millions will receive vaccines and survive."

What We’re Doing, and How You Can Help The Texas Drought Project was formed in the fall of 2008 when we worked on the first big US climate bill called Waxman-Markey. In the following years, we did much-need climate education and then a series of large successful campaigns. In the wake of COP26 in Glasgow, we have made a strong push to get people to call, write, and email 6 targeted Texas Democrats in hopes of pushing them and Biden to act boldly for the climate. We need only $2500 per month to sustain this critical push to our last best chance for a safe future. Any donation of $100 or more will be matched! |
