Forward to your friends!

As COP 26 draws to a close, we present articles which examine why it’s failing to accomplish its necessary goals—in an eNews that may seem long, but please read on, because our collective fate hangs in the balance. We continue to expose the role of fossil fuel companies, heavily industrialized, polluting nations, the world’s wealthiest individuals and the politicians they’ve bought, in guaranteeing that we’re on a path to at least a 2.4C rise in global temperatures.

Does catastrophe await our society and the planet,

Or will hope win out?

Greta Thunberg outlines a strategy designed to force action on climate change, while others seek to learn from our mistakes—but is there time to do so?

As analysis from all sectors—scientific, political, humanitarian—continues to roll in over the next few days, we’ll bring it to you in newsletter form this coming Monday. Given that the consensus thus far seems to be that the conference has been a failure, we’re exploring the possibility that imposing Dr. James Hansen’s Fee-and-Dividend might be the only good choice we have left. We’ll discuss that option in depth, as well, and together, we hope to chart a path forward. Hope is not lost.

NEWS FROM COP26: Days 11 & 12

What We’re Doing, and How You Can Help

The Texas Drought Project was formed in the fall of 2008 when we worked on the first big US climate bill called Waxman-Markey. In the following years, we did much-need climate education and then a series of large successful campaigns.

In anticipation of COP26 in Glasgow, we have made a strong push to get people to call, write, and email 6 targeted Texas Democrats in hopes of pushing them and Biden to act boldly for the climate.

We need only $2500 per month to sustain this critical push to our last best chance for a safe future.  Any donation of $100 or more will be matched!

We need help, please be as generous as you can.
