Noam Chomsky Bio

Noah Chomsky, who’s almost 93, is considered the world’s foremost linguist, but more than that, he’s been on the front lines of sociopolitical dissent for many decades. He is a harsh critic of capitalism and the pursuit of material wealth, and subsequently has aimed much of his criticism at the U.S. for its growing economic inequality. He has opposed authoritarian regimes and the military-industrial complex, and was a well-known figure protesting the Vietnam War. His voice is heard throughout many academic fields and he will long be remembered not merely for linguistics, but for his contributions to philosophy, computer science, anthropology, mathematics and education.
